WHY KAPLAN D.C

I'm Andres. I'm from Colombia where I have a job in Spain bank. On weekend, I always went to swimming at Compensar's Club but on weekdays my schedule started early. I woke up at 6:30 am to go to work. During the day, I developed different case's studies to present the companies at Credit Risk. There's decided about lending or not. Sometimes, my co-workers speak in English with companies' CFO (Chief Financial Officer) or Financial Manager. This led me to study English.

Then I enrolled in Kaplan D.C, which is the most popular English institute on the world, to study English. First, I wanted to improve my English skills through new experiences, like meeting with host family. Second, Washington D.C. is known for its history, there you go outside to visit different museums, discover American culture and enjoy one day in Georgetown (Day classes). For example, you can visit the National mall where you find more than 10 museums, a lot of them free. Other reason was to avoid latin people like Miami. Due to that city the people speak Spanish all time.

When I arrived at Washington D.C., I used to fear speaking in English. Now, I've been studying at Kaplan for 4 weeks. I'm used to thinking and speaking in English during day with my classmates, my host family and American people. Other thing, I just use to work, meet or talk with Colombian people, meanwhile I am used to meet with new cultures every day because people from different countries study at Kaplan.

In addition, Studying English allow me improve my background to turn the position in my company. I've been learning new grammar, communicating more fluency. I know the next time, when I come back, I would like to stay here more than seven weeks, Maybe I'll stay for six months.
